    DAYTONA BEACH, Florida — The Streamline Hotel, the place where NASCAR founder Bill France Sr. made the agreement to start the stock car series, is no longer the gay bar and drag show epicenter that it was five years ago.

    The transformation of the Streamline isn’t immediately obvious from Atlantic Avenue. The hotel still bears the white and teal colors it’s had for years. Though when you observe closer, you can see the draw is a lot fresher.

    The walk up to the front door is much the same as it has always been. The first sign that this is the modern Streamline is a metal sign above the door that says “The birthplace of NASCAR” with NASCAR in the series’ immediately distinguishable font.

    The Streamline’s modern reality hits you when you stroll in the front door. The floors are marble. There’s an aquarium in the middle of the lobby. The bar area was occupied by former crew chief turned NASCAR analyst Steve Letarte and a production crew filming a video segment for NASCAR’s website.

    From I95 hold the LPGA Blvd exit then take a right onto Nova Rd. Rumors is 2 blocks down on the right. From I95 taking the International Speedway Blvd exit take a left at Nova Road go north and it 4 blocks on the left after you proceed Mason St.
    Cross street: Rumors is located 2 blocks south of LPGA Blvd. Going south it is on the right. Tthere is also a liquor store in an adjacent building.

    • Crowd:Mixed crowd, young through older, very good mix of same-sex attracted, bi and lez lots of fun. Younger looking for Daddies. Good young action.
    • Hours:12 noon till 2am.
      Best times: Optimal time is after 8pm. Dwell drag shows start after 9pm they are very good.
    • Cruising Info/ Tips:Introduce yourself or buy someone a drink, you'll find more action than you can handle.
      Cruisiest Spots: Far corner of bar and tables next to dance floor.
    • Wheelchair Accessible:Yes / Handicap access and ramps on each side of the front door. But I've never seen them used.
