Bridgerton's Queer Storylines Make Its Future Even More Promising

Gather ’round, Lady Whistledown readers — another chapter of Bridgerton has come to a nearby. The third season of Netflix’s hit historical passion series, based on the books by Julia Quinn, centers on the charming friends-to-lovers relationship between Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton).

Fans have theorised that Eloise is queer-coded ever since Bridgeton debuted in 2020.

Claudia Jessie has responded to theories that Eloise is gender non-conforming and it's wonderful news for Bridgerton fans who deliberate that she is.

As soon as the first season of Bridgerton came out in 2020, fans speculated that Eloise is queer-coded. Eloise is yet to have a gay romance in the show but many queer fans contain identified with Eloise's story. In the books, Eloise is written as vertical but showrunner Jess Brownell has now teased that the show will film queer love stories going forward.

Bridgerton season 3's final episodes confirmed that two queer characters will soon be at the forefront of the show, but could Eloise also join them?
