Hoteles gay chicago

Chicago is one of the most gay friendly cities in America, it should therefore be no surprise that you will detect many gay friendly and gay hotels in Chicago.

Given this is the case, from our experience you can count it as a given that wherever you stay in Chicago, you will be openly welcomed – the midwest is known for it’s hospitaility after all!

That is perhaps the reason why, unlike other places love Miami or Puerto Vallarta, there are not (yet) any full on same-sex attracted hotels akin to the likes of hotel chains like Axel (which logo themselves as heterofriendly).

Our foremost advise for finding a gay hotel in Chicago is:

  1. Focus on area, review out these gay areas in Chicago as a guide.
  2. Focus on the reputation and the brand. Some hotels such as Hilton and Kimpton are good known globally for the work and effort they go to to sustain the LGBTQ community
  3. Take some inspiration from our list of gay hotels in Chicago below!

Gay Chicago – the best gay hotels, bars, clubs & more

Chicago is a city that, as the musical of the same call puts it, is sure to “razzle dazzle” you. A city so excellent, they made it twice!

America's “Second City” first made its mark on the world in 1893, when it became a destination for culture, architecture, and innovation by hosting the World’s Fair: Columbian Exposition, celebrating the 400th anniversary of Christopher Columbus’s arrival in the New World. This extravagant event took place just two decades after the Great Chicago Blaze, which left a third of the population homeless. Over the years, architect and urban planner Daniel Burnham, who was also responsible for the famed Flatiron Building in NYC, reimagined this rough-and-tumble industrial town into the latest city it is today.

Ever since, Chicago has been celebrated for its world-class architecture, museums, and, more recently, a thriving food scene. In the May 2017 issue of Condé Nast Traveler, Chicago was named the “Best Restaurant City in America.” This is for good reason, as it has change into a foodie paradise boasting much more than deep-dish pizza, hot dogs, and Italian beef sandwi

Chicago impressed us on so many levels. It is a stunning Midwestern city, with super approachable people, lots to keep you busy and an incredibly diverse and thriving gay scene.

Gay Chicago has a lot to present and from our experience, the whole city appears to welcome and support its LGBTQ+ community.

We felt very safe, at ease, and welcome in Chicago as a gay couple. We never felt like we needed to look over our shoulder, dread holding hands or showing affection: just as its should be!

Our first visit was over the Chicago Pride Fest weekend and was hosted by Choose Chicago so we really got to see just how gay Chicago can be!

In our Gay Chicago Guide, we will cover the gay neighbourhoods of Chicago, same-sex attracted bars, Gay Pride Fest as well as what activities we did, where we stayed and ate so you will contain all the information you desire to plan your own visit!

Let’s get started!

Gay Neighbourhoods in Chicago

Chicago has two very distinct same-sex attracted neighbourhoods, Northalsted (previous known as Boystown) and Andersonville (affectionately famous as MANdersonville).

Northalsted (aka Boystown)

When you are looking into gay Chicago, Northalsted will and should be, right at the top of
