“Did you guys know? Zombies are real.”

I might not be as obsessed with true crime as the rest of the world but you know what I do love—completely fictional and wildly irrational deaths entity solved by supernatural hotties with a big ole chunk of queerness.

Instead of this just creature a figment of my very vivid imagination, it’s one of the newest series from the crew over at Netflix called Dead Boy Detectives. Originally a comic in the 1DC Cosmos (where my absolute fav psycho Pisces Miss Harleen Quinzel hails from) it’s now being turned into a live-action series complete with an 8-episode premiere season.

Are The Dead Boy Detectives Lgbtq+ in the Comics? How Charles & Edwin’s Relationship Translated On Screen

Is Edwin gay in the Dead Boy Detectives comics?

Like the show, Edwin is a closeted gay man in the comics. Since he went to a very religious Catholic high academy, he was repressed in expressing his true sexuality. He comes out of the closet when he tells his best comrade that he has feelings for him. “We always felt that Edwin died before he understood that he could be with a man,” Yockey told HuffPost. “As a ghost, he’s spent all of his time with best friend Charles, and that was good enough for him. So when Crystal comes along, that upsets this siloed dynamic.”

In the show, Niko helps Edwin come to terms with his sexuality—with the help of none other than Yaoi (gay Japanese anime). “You do know two boys can like-like each other, right? I have a lot of manga about it,” she quips. “It’s very sweet. And explicit.”

On the progression of the bond with Charles, Yockey told TV Insider, “That was going to be the story, and because Charles is the person that he is, of course, Edwin’s going to fall in cherish with him and, of course, he’s going to handle it

Jayden Revri: “If you can touch one person’s heart through your work, that’s all you need”

“It’s colourful, wonderful, and wild.” Jayden Revri is talking about his new reveal Dead Boy Detectives but the performer could easily be describing himself. Aged just 24, Revri has flexed his talents in musical-comedy series The Lodge and has now ticked off supernatural hero from his bucket list. His character in the Neil Gaiman reveal, Charles Rowland, may be a ghost but Revri is in the prime of his life.

Sitting down with the English actor you would never understand that teenage girls flood his Instagram comments, declaring their undying love. He is mannerly and kind as he shares his infatuation for golf, which he took up during the pandemic. He often nips to Tesco in his uber compact and ever so stylish chequered trousers, unfazed if anyone gives a second glance. And with every accolade he mentions, he makes sure to double-down on how grateful he is to gain success at such a relatively young age.

Premiering on 25 April, Dead Boy Detectives will follow the adventures of Charles Rowland (Revri) and Edwin Paine (played by George Rexstrew), two ghost detectives fighting supernatural crimes. After meeti

A ceo leaves for a week, very few people notice.

The custodial staff leave for a day, everyone notices.

Sanitation and custodial workers deserve far more wealth and respect than they generally get.

I don't think people understand the degree to which culture is kept alive by the labor of the least well-regarded professions. If sewage technicians and sanitation workers and their skill and knowledge were to disappear tomorrow, the streets would pile high with bodies in every town. We live in a world where we receive to be blessedly oblivious to just how adv, how brutally and how violently cholera can rip through a community. How many babies it can kill. How many elderly bodies it can devour alive. You've never seen what it's like when typhoid takes root.
