Yes, according to this article, in the SF chronicle newspaper, Phoenix Wright (bisexual) and Miles Edgeworth (gay?) shipname: Wrightworth is essentially ‘canon in all sense aside from legal’ this article makes me so happy to see!

We thank the fujo in the team for adding more heart into the story but it’s time for y'all to recognize that is just sprinkles on a cake one can easily remove. Its a decoration, basic fanservice, bordering on queerbating, still avoidable if i do say so myself.

But even if it were based on BL, the game itself is not very gay. It’s not straight either, it’s a funni lawyer simulator, the entire romantic aspect is decorative and relatevely unimportant… it is the fandom who’s absolutely nuts about it.
